Aroma of violet florals, a subtle white peppercorn note with an integrated oak background. Elegant fruit, gentle tannin build the generous mid palate, soft acidity gives a lingering finish.
A small vineyard just five minutes from the Village of Havelock North in Hawke’s Bay Wine Country. Their focus is on premium Bordeaux styled red varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Award winning whites include Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. All wines are estate grown and the fruit is hand picked.
Winemaker Dave McKee has two decades of experience, much of his trade learnt at Church Road, and has made the wine at Black Barn since 2002. It is his thoughtful and meticulous approach and attention to detail that has resulted in a bold, strong range of very different wines and styles that have a dedicated following.
