The wine has a very beautiful dark color and on the nose it reveals a very open bouquet of liquorice and red fruits. It is a very supple, full-bodied wine with velvety tannins and very well-balanced structure.

A well-known grand cru in Saint-Emilion, Château Roylland is located just outside of the medieval city and its famous bell tower, next to some of the most prestigious estates in the region. The historial and old property of Château Roylland dates back to the era of Eleanor of Aquitaine. Its name means « The Land of King ».
In July 2010, Martine and Jean-Bernard Chambard became the new owners of the estate. They hence started the estate management to built new cellars, new facilities and a brand new tasting room. The 5 hectare property is now planted with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc on limestone clay soils.
