Manuel Janisson is a winemaker and producer based in the Grand Cru village of Verzenay. Descended from four generations of winemakers, the knowledge and art of winemaking hold no secrets for Manuel.

The Janisson & Fils style is a perpetual quest for finesse and elegance. With a unique structure, seven hectares of vines classified Grand Cru and a team invested in the search for perfection, champagne Janisson & Fils is at a turning point. Firstly, the champagne house sets out a policy to master and improve each step of the champagne making process. As a young champagne house it naturally turns to both visual and technical modernity.

Verzenay has 1090 inhabitants and 440 hectares of vineyards and it is in this popular Champagne village that Manuel Janisson’s family has been based for four generations. In 1923 Robert Arnould, Manuel’s grandfather, launched his first cuvée and faithful to local heritage it contained only Pinot Noir grapes. Several decades later Manuel Janisson assured the continuity of this tradition and his attachment to the village by establishing his cellars in the very heart of the Verzenay vines. Although always forward looking he has nevertheless respected the tradition of champagne whilst introducing his own notes of modernity. Like his grandfather before him the Pinot Noir remains the dominant grape in his production and perpetuates the family tradition by making a Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru that is so typical of Verzenay.
